Non-Alcoholic Hugo Cocktail. When Every Sip Is Full of Meaning

There are evenings when you don’t feel like complicating anything. No “what’s next” plans. No unnecessary noise or fuss. Getting together with your people, putting on a favourite track in the background, opening something cold – and letting the conversation flow without hurry.

A non-alcoholic version of the Hugo cocktail can add a special touch to such moments. It doesn’t need advertising. Fresh, slightly floral, and very “summery” – even if it’s not hot outside yet. It is usually associated with terraces, unhurried conversations, and social events. But the truth is that it works perfectly at home as well.

Without alcohol, Hugo doesn’t lose anything. On the contrary, its flavour becomes more refined: the elderflower tastes smoother, the mint feels fresher, and the sparkling water ties everything together into a balanced whole. It’s a drink that suits almost everyone and never dominates the evening – it simply enhances it.

What you need:

  • 30–40 ml Jam Time elderflower syrup or Hugo summer cocktail concentrate
  • 120–150 ml sparkling water
  • 2–3 lime wedges
  • 5–7 mint leaves
  • ice

How to prepare:

Fill a large glass almost to the top with ice. Add mint and gently press it with a spoon so it releases its aroma. Add lime, pour in the elderflower syrup (or Hugo summer cocktail concentrate), and top up with sparkling water. Stir gently.

This is the perfect start to your evening. It refreshes, doesn’t overload you, and looks impressive without much effort.

This recipe proves: cocktails don’t have to be complicated or professional. Experiment at home, break the rules, and enjoy every moment! A glass, a few simple ingredients, a bit of mood – and the evening changes before your eyes.
